Abstract | This paper offers the translation into Portuguese of a short text by Rudolf Carnap. From the same period of the controversial «Overcoming Metaphysics through Logical Analysis of Language», but much more unknown, «About God and Soul» can be seen as a condensed and allegorical version of «Overcoming». The reader familiar with the works of Carnap, and accustomed to a more direct and precise vocabulary, will be surprised by the use of metaphors and other figures of speech. The particularities of this text will contribute to better qualify the richness of the philosophical attitude and even the personality of Carnap.
